Setting Up the Deister Integration

How to configure the Deister integration in portier®VISION, from the `[Deister]` section in portiervision.ini through to the data synchronisation with the proxSafe cabinets.

The Deister integration connects portier®VISION to the proxSafe key cabinets from Deister. The credentials live in the file portiervision.ini in the installation directory of your portier®VISION installation.

Prerequisites

  • Licence portier Profi or portier business edition. Smaller licence levels do not unlock the function.

  • The module is switched on under System > Einstellungen > Module verwalten > Deisterbox verwenden. Without that tick the Deister menu entries do not appear.

  • The Deister proxSafe WebService is running and reachable from the Vision workstation. The firewall must allow the connection.

Required Settings

Add the following section to your portiervision.ini or adjust it to your environment:

[Deister]
HOST=http://192.168.178.35:8095/proxSafeWebService/services/WebService
DB=w2003sv/pscv3;instance=SQLEXPRESS
PASSWORD=DEISTER_PASSWORD
USERNAME=DEISTER_USERNAME

The section takes exactly these four keys. portier®VISION does not read any other entry.

Explanation of Entries

  • HOST

URL of the Deister proxSafe WebService. The address shown is an example. Enter your own address.

  • DB

Server and database before the semicolon (;), separated by a slash. The SQL Server instance follows after it. Example: w2003sv/pscv3;instance=SQLEXPRESS.

  • PASSWORD

Password for signing in to the proxSafe WebService.

  • USERNAME

User name for signing in to the proxSafe WebService.

portier®VISION passes DB, USERNAME and PASSWORD to the WebService when it signs in. portier®VISION does not open its own connection to the Deister database.

Synchronisation and assignment

The menu Daten > Deister holds three entries. Menu items, window titles and messages are given as they appear in the German user interface.

Datenabgleich mit Deister starten runs the synchronisation straight away. portier®VISION reads issues and returns from the cabinets and books them into the Vision database. A dialog then reports whether any bookings were made. If the service cannot be reached, portier®VISION reports "Der Deister-WEB Service ist nicht verfügbar!". Check the WebService, the address under HOST and your firewall rules.

KeyTag's zuordnen opens the window "Exemplar - Deisterabgleich" with the tabs "Abgleich Deister - Exemplare in portier" and "Abgleich Deister - Bunde in portier". Here you link a copy or a bundle from Deister to the matching portier record. You remove an existing link in the same place.

Personen zuordnen opens the window "Deister Personalabgleich". The first tab takes unique people over from Deister automatically, the second allows manual assignment.

Security note: If portier®VISION cannot match a Deister cabinet ID to an existing Vision user, the system creates a system user automatically. The user ID reads proxSafe-<cabinet ID> and the password is a default value. Review the user list after every commissioning and assign a dedicated password to those accounts.

Integration note: The integration is one-way. portier®VISION reads the cabinet state and writes movements into the Vision database. Changes made in portier®VISION do not go back to the Deister cabinet.

Getting support

Setup depends on your network environment and your system configuration. If the connection does not come up, contact portier support. Have the address under HOST, the state of the proxSafe WebService and your firewall rules to hand.
